The White man gets the short end of the stick in that scenario, too, because he’s a sucka-ass plan B and does not also understand it. The Black lady loses since she’s not addressing the real issues that contribute to her dating dilemmas.
The other uncomfortable declaration I obtain from my Black sweethearts regarding dating White guys is, ‘You’re the type of Black woman White individuals like. White males aren’t drawn in to me.’ Chile, quit it. If there is something I understand about heterosexual men, it is that no matter their physical choices, at the end of the day they much like women. I’ve seen White people with a wide array of Black women.
I am a thin, Harlem-residing, Detroit-born, master’s degree-having 34-year-old separated Black woman whose ticket gets on pimpin’. When good friends say I’m the ‘kind’ White people like, they are mostly referring to my little structure, education and learning and breadth of traveling. Nevertheless, I am not a White kid whisperer. There is nothing concerning me that makes me a ‘secure’ Black chick for White people to bellow at. The truth is that I have a really active social life in a varied city, and I typically find myself in spaces filled with guys of different racial, ethnic and citizenship histories. My dating lineup reflects those social encounters.
The majority of my sweethearts that talk about being sick of Black guys, are not being totally severe. They aren’t about to abandon Black men (I haven’t, either). They are just thinking about dipping their toes into something new. But stretching into interracial connection region is not something to do as an ‘I dislike you so much now’ type of performance art experiment towards Black men. Additionally, regardless of the outrageous and extremely incorrect babble that just Black men are drawn in to Black ladies, focus from non-Black guys is not some sort of extra validation of a Black lady’s beauty.
Black women are attractive, period. There is no need for outside validation. I have actually never really felt unique because of the easy truth of having White individuals attempt to court me. Obviously men wish to date me. Why not? Pfft!
That claimed, interracial partnerships aren’t for everybody, which’s penalty. I date interracially, however I’m not spreading the gospel of United Colors of Benetton dating. Do that if it fits you. Don’t do it if you’re not inclined to. Simple. There’s nothing wrong with Black women sticking to Black men or the other way around. Simply be clear with who you are and why you want who you want.
